To make the transition from adolescent to adult, it is important for a young woman to have factual information about her body and its functions. A well-informed, knowledgeable individual is likely to make good choices when making decisions that will affect their health and life. Thus, the Health Center provides a dedicated, professional staff to meet the needs of the young women on campus.

Gynecological services available in the Health Center include:

  • Annual GYN exam and Pap Smear
  • Contraception advice
  • Prescriptions - birth control, Depo Provera injections, etc.
  • Diagnosis and treatment of STD's
  • Diagnosis and treatment of vaginal infections
  • Treatment of PMS
  • HPV vaccine

Routine gynecological services are available by appointment during the fall and spring semesters. The average waiting time for an annual or initial exam appointment is two weeks. Details about the routine annual gynecological exam can be found here.

Walk-in office visits are available each day for urgent problems, e.g., vaginal infection, spotting, and cramping, possibility of undesired pregnancy, etc.

The HPV vaccine, Gardasil, is available for female patients only.  The vaccine helps protect against the following diseases caused by Human Papillomavirus (HPV):  cervical cancer, abnormal and precancerous cervical lesions, abnormal and precancerous vaginal lesions, abnormal and precancerous vulvar lesions, and genital warts.

All gynecological services are confidential and are provided in a relaxed, caring atmosphere by professional staff members.
